Showcasing our innovative student activityBy Sir Andrew Likierman
I often talk about the impact of our faculty and alumni but there’s plenty of action among students too, including some fantastic Club events. Just three examples of recent initiatives:
Three MiFs (Yannick Lakoue-Derant, Margarita Economides and Zhanna Smirnova) presented their research on the decline of the listed company at the Houses of Parliament to the All-Party Governance Group. Their report focuses particularly on family businesses and their increasing reluctance to list.
In this year’s Impact Investing Competition, the LBS team of Ayo Camara, Divesh Chandiramani, Alexa Sharples, Sriram Varadarajan and Jay Son Tan looked at commercialising a technology to make electric motors more efficient.
The solar-powered weather station placed temporarily in the Quad by Tom Vanneste is designed to provide accurate weather forecasting data to rural farmers in Africa, thereby helping farmers increase crop yields and their resilience to climate change.
Not to mention those exciting Apps in the pipeline.
