End of year reflections

By François Ortalo-Magné

So that was 2019! What a year for the School. I hope that you’ll take a moment to look back on what you have achieved – I am grateful for everything that you have contributed.

As the year comes to a close, I am also minded to reflect on the conclusion of the decade. As a School, we have seen so much change over the past ten years. To give you a small snapshot, at the start of 2010 our alumni community was over 30,000 strong. We will have close to 47,000 alumni by the end of 2020. We started the decade with 30,000 square metres of space. By January, we will be at 47,000 square metres – uncanny, isn’t it?

And there is so much more to come – definitely more alumni, probably not more square metres. Rather than expanding our physical presence, we will enhance how we use our physical spaces and complement them with an expanded digital presence. We will continue to bring together outstanding diverse minds. We will enhance how they connect and collide to learn, grow and outthink challenges.

Enjoy the last few weeks of the year. Sondra and I wish you a safe, restful and happy break. We look forward to us starting the new decade together.

Season’s greetings,

François and Sondra
