Join the Community Action Group in October to discover new volunteering opportunities in October over a spot of lunch. Please book your space for each so that CAG can cater for numbers.

Supporting the Homeless: 12:00 Tuesday 15 October, A127

Sam and Laszlo from C4WS Homeless Project will talk about a short-term mentoring opportunity supporting job-ready homeless get back to work. Could you help add some sparkle to a CV and interview technique?  Training will be included at this session. 

Commitment: One hour on a Wednesday for four weeks.

Companionship for our older neighbours: 12:00 Monday 21 October, R215

North London Cares is a Camden based charity which connects young professionals to older neighbours within the community who are at risk of isolation and loneliness. Volunteers can get involved in numerous ways. Come along to our lunch and learn session to find out how!

Commitment: Can be one-off or ongoing!

Supporting our local entrepreneurs: 12:00 Monday 23 October, LHG01 (Laing House Ground Floor)

Rhona Fairburn from Tree Shepherd has a big job: supporting 300 market and street traders in an struggling community undergoing significant change and regeneration... she could do with some help!  Could you spare a bit of time helping local entrepreneurs fill in business improvement plans (template provided) or getting to grips with social media? You don’t need to be Alan Sugar!

Mentoring Young Adults: 12:00 Wednesday 30 October, Sussex Room

ReachOut is a mentoring charity working with young people in disadvantaged communities to raise aspirations and help them grow in character and attainment.  They are looking for volunteers for their Secondary School mentoring programme (young people aged 11 and older). 

Commitment: One meeting per week during term-time. This equates to 30 visits per year and 80% attendance is acceptable. The site is Westminster Academy, which takes approximately 20 minutes by tube.

The sessions will last roughly one hour from 6pm.
