Volunteer to be a Fire Warden or First Aider

Ever wanted to set off a fire extinguisher? Or help a colleague who is not well? Then volunteering as a fire warden or first aider might be for you.

As an organisation, the School has a duty to plan for emergencies. This includes the high-level Major Incident Plan and Business Continuity Plan, but also on-the-ground support from our trained staff volunteers.

Our first aiders provide emergency care to staff, students and visitors in order to minimise injury on site, while our fire wardens play an important role in monitoring fire safety arrangements, and leading fire drills and real evacuations.

Full training is provided (here’s where the fire extinguishers come in) along with necessary equipment such as high viz vests and first aid kits. If you’d like to volunteer, please contact Cathy Youthed.

A list of our current first aiders and fire wardens can be found on Portal:  Portal/ The School/ School Information/ Health and Safety.

If you find yourself in need of first aid assistance, please contact your local first aider or the security team, who are on duty 24 hours a day, 365 days a year on 7999.
