Volunteer as a School Governor

The Community Action Group has just partnered with the education charity, Governors for Schools which exists to improve educational standards enabling children and young people to realise their full potential. For over 17 years they have been matching employees from university and business partners with schools that need them the most. In the last 5 years alone they have placed over 10,000 volunteers as school governors.

Date: Monday, 18 June 2018

Time: 12.15 pm

RSVP: To reserve a place please email by lunchtime on Friday, 15 June

Working as a team, governors support and challenge senior school leadership. Their professional skills and expertise are harnessed to make strategic decisions that improve the learning environment and future prospects for children in schools. Becoming a governor also helps you develop your skills in a boardroom environment, which will be useful throughout your career.

Governors for Schools provide a service that is bespoke and tailored to each school and volunteer that works with them. They seek the right opportunity for you - one that matches your skill set and the location of your home, work or area of interest.

For more information, come and meet Gemma Exelby from Governors for Schools at this Lunch and Learn session. Everyone is welcome irrespective of background and experience including: staff, faculty, students and alumni.
