Summer works on campus
Nash Lounge & Kitchen will be undergoing a complete redecoration, with outlets closed from Monday 16 July until Monday 13 August for the installation of new lights, flooring, walls and furniture. There will be no restrictions on entering A-wing, however access to AG toilets and corridor will be via the bridge door. Please be aware of contractors accessing the space, and we will do our best to ensure the area is kept clean and presentable.
The Gift Shop will be closed from Monday 16 July until Monday 13 August. This long overdue renovation will see new fittings installed, better lighting, flooring and display fixtures. Noisy works will be completed by Monday 30 July, and a soft hoarding will be in place in Plowden Reception. As part of the works the cash machine will be removed; the nearest alternative is 100m away at the Regent’s Park Co-op. You can still order gift shop items online at shop.london.edu and we are planning a small pop-up shop in Ratcliffe Reception during the week commencing Monday 6 August prior to reopening.
Houses 40 & 42 will see the most significant change, with three floors of seminar rooms being converted into offices to accommodate the School’s Research Centres and Institutes. Access to these houses will be restricted for the duration of the works, but the Research Lab will still be open.
Smaller projects include closure and refurbishment of Ratcliffe gents toilets from Monday 16 to Monday 30 July, and there will be scaffolding erected in the Sussex Place car park for two weeks while repairs are made to the flat roof on C-Wing. Parking bays 3 and 4 will be suspended for the duration, with some intermittent noisy works. There is also an extensive re-painting schedule planned, so access to some parts of the School might be limited while our contractors work.
Signs will be in place at each of the sites above with more information, so please do keep an eye on Portal and Yammer announcements which will outline more localised works.
