Painting and necessary repair work
As part of its lease with the Crown Estate, the School is required to carry out painting and necessary repairs to the Nash façade and all other external painted surfaces every five years. This work is now due and will take place between 25 April and 30 September 2016.
The quinquennial painting and repairs for this cycle also includes apex roof repairs on A and B-Wings plus flat roof repairs to House No.1, Laing House, all of the 1st, 3rd and roof levels facing Regents Park.
A programme of works has been shared with senior managers across the School and has been amended to help minimise the disruption to teaching, study and Congregation activities. Scaffold will be erected, starting at Sainsbury, which will then be moved around the campus as each section is completed. Aesthetically, the scaffold will obscure parts of the façade while the work takes place.
Every effort will be made to contain the works but the whole process will involve some noise which is impossible to avoid completely.
