Invest for Good: Social Impact Conference 2019

LBS hosts the Invest for Good: Social Impact Conference 2019 on Friday 15 March between 9:30 and 19:00 at the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG).

Investing remains an incredibly powerful tool for social impact, unlocking US$3-4 trillion of capital flow throughout global markets every day. Industry maturation has invited wider case studies, further data and deeper insight. This year’s Social Impact Conference will draw on expert insight to explore the complexities and challenges of sustainable, responsible and impact investing.

Keynote speaker for the Conference will be Saker Nusseibeh, CEO of Hermes Investment Management. A long list of other prestigious speakers can be found on the event page.

The morning will focus on ESG investments, with an investigation of systemic issues and considerations of investing in bond and equity markets followed by an assessment of the various financial instruments and approaches used in private markets. Expert panellists will then dive into an exploration of the role of technology for ESG investing.

The afternoon will cover many important facets of impact investing, including the trade-offs in investor–investee relationships, the challenges of meeting best practice impact measurement and disclosure and important regional differences to consider when investing for development.

The Conference seeks to move beyond broad brush success and excitement, and delve into deeper actionable conversations that spark real advancements in industry.
