Sarah Kemp - Customer Experience Manager

If you've wandered the corridors at Sussex Place or Sammy Ofer Centre, chances are you will have seen one of our Customer Experience Managers out and about, making sure that everything on campus - from catering to classroom maintenance - remains to the very highest standards. Here's Sarah Kemp, a Customer Experience Manager who has been with us for just over a year now.

Tell us a bit about the journey to your current role at LBS…
I’m originally from a very small village in East Lothian. I studied German at the University of Aberdeen for five years and after graduating I was offered a place on Boots’ Retail Management Graduate Programme in Manchester. So I packed my bags and moved south of the border. I was with Boots for eight years as a Store Manager and managed a variety of pharmacies and stores over that time.

I relocated to London last summer and have now been at LBS for just over a year as Customer Experience Manager.

Can you tell us more about your job role?
I’m part of a team of four Customer Experience Managers and you’ll see us out and about at Sussex Place and Sammy Ofer Centre walking the floor, to ensure we deliver a consistent, world-class experience to all.  We’re available across Campus 12 hours a day, seven days a week, from 7am until 7pm and are your first point of contact for any service issues.

Our days are rarely the same and our focus and priority will be given to any issues that result in service standards falling short.  What’s great about our role is we get to work alongside many different departments and colleagues. We’re ambassadors for the School working to maintain the highest standards as well as looking for ways we can enhance and improve the customer experience for the community.

What is the best thing about being at LBS?
Definitely the people here at LBS. The Customer Experience team is brilliant and across Campus Services and the School it’s the same. I really do think that LBS staff are committed to providing students with the best possible experience.

Outside of LBS, you’ll find me…
Off sightseeing around London and the south coast as I’m still relatively new to this neck of the woods!

If I had to live on a desert island for a month, the three things I’d take would be…
A hammock
My iPod
Some chilled white wine!

You probably didn’t know this about me, but…
I’ve lived and worked in Austria and, perhaps a little rusty as not used for a while, I do speak German.
