Meet the new SA team
Life@LBS caught up with some of the new junior officers of the Student Association (SA), to find out a bit about them and where they come from.
(SA officers pictured are quoted in clockwise order)
Chief of Staff
Alex Zborowski: I'm an ex-Australian bobsledder, actuary and serial entrepreneur who has always had a passion for advocacy. Prior to LBS I was the Program Manager for the Equality Campaign in Australia. As an active LGBT ally and Manbassador, I believe that positive messaging and inclusiveness builds stronger businesses and communities, something I wish to pursue at LBS
Junior Campus Operations Officer
Shuvashree Mohapatra: I’m from India and previously worked at Schlumberger for four years as a field engineer in the oil fields. During my time at the company, I also worked within operations management and sales. I love the hands-on aspect of operations and getting things done, so being a Junior Campus Operations Officer is a natural fit for me. The fact that I can bring about some lasting change to our campus, that will benefit our students, is what excites me about the role.
Junior Operations Officer (IT and Data Management)
Akshay Garg: Pre-MBA, I practiced as a medical doctor in the NHS and a health IT consultant, and post-MBA I’d like to work in health tech and innovation. As an officer of the SA, I’m excited to create a lasting positive impact on the student body, particularly on their IT experiences! Impossible you say? Challenge accepted.
Junior Incoming Students Officer
Camilla Boyer: I am originally from London but have been living in San Francisco for the past eight years. Before LBS I was a product marketer at Salesforce and in my free time I worked within recruitment and building a great culture for my non-profit, the Young Women’s Taskforce. As a Junior Incoming Students Officer, I hope to inspire and excite new students and integrate them seamlessly into campus life.
Junior PR and Comms Officer
Prachi Agrawal: I’m an oil and gas professional with six years multinational experience, spread across India, South East Asia, Australia and the Middle East. I’m passionate about the written word and aim to contribute to a better community experience through my role as Junior PR and Comms Officer.
Junior Social Affairs Officers
Saumya Swarup: I'm a MIM 2018 from India. I completed my undergraduate studies in Economics at the University of Warwick. I have previously completed a marketing internship at an e-commerce start-up. At university, I was also a part of a social venture to promote sustainability. My interests include fashion and golf, and I’m excited to meet new people. As a foodie, I’m always up for trying new restaurants around London.
Hilary Peltz: I’m an MBA2019 and born and raised in New York City. I have a professional background in the luxury fashion sector, working for brands such as Alexander Wang and Marc Jacobs. After LBS, I plan to stay in London and continue to work in the luxury fashion industry. Besides fashion, I’m interested in food, art, and fitness, and I'm excited to help organize SA events for the LBS community.
Junior Sponsorship officer
Eliska Mallickova: I’m from Slovakia and have been living in the UK for the last seven years. Prior to LBS I worked as a Media and Internet Equity Research Analyst at Morgan Stanley in London. I spent four months volunteering and teaching English in Southeast Asia after I left my job for the MBA. During this time I taught Buddhist monks in Laos and children in Cambodia.
Junior Sports and Clubs Officers
Philippe Tardif: My name is Philippe, and I’ll be one of your Junior Sports and Clubs Officers. I’m Canadian lawyer who loves freezing cold weather and can play ice hockey, ski and snowboard (winter is long up there). If you want to talk sports and clubs or have great ideas for our campus and community, come talk to us.
Taylor Ceithaml: I’m Taylor, one of the Junior Sports and Clubs Officers. I’m from California and have spent my career as a Disney engineer, so I love all things entertainment, rides, and fun related! I enjoy watching all types of sports, so hope you’ll join me on the sidelines this year to root for LBS!
Junior Treasurer Officers
Evan Connell: I’m from Richmond, Virginia and graduated from the University of Virginia with degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Economics. Prior to LBS I worked as a Private Equity Associate at AEA Investors in New York. And before joining AEA, I spent three years at Bain & Company in their Atlanta and London offices.
Abraham Hajjar: I’m a dual Lebanese/American citizen with a background in electrical engineering. I spent seven years in the Oil & Gas industry based in the Middle East before joining LBS. I’m very much looking forward to the next couple of years at LBS.
Aviral Gupta: I’m a MIM2018 from India and did my undergraduate degree in Accounting and Finance. I took up finance internships at a SoftBank funded startup and a boutique investment bank in India, and intend to make a career in investment-banking and private equity. I’m an avid photographer, enjoy cooking Indian food and I’m enthusiastic about squash and singing.
Gajan Yogeswaran: I’m from Sydney, Australia and previously worked for PwC, predominantly in their Financial Services sector and also dabbled in some entrepreneurship in the medical devices industry. I’m hoping to help continue the strong relationship between the Student Association, the clubs and the wider student community.
