Restricted access to main campus: 7–11 March

Tattoo 2019 – a festive evening showcasing our diversity attended by 1,100 students – is taking place on Sussex Place campus on Saturday 9 March 2019.

The event is a major logistical undertaking that takes over the whole of the campus. Set-up begins on 7 March, the campus will be closed to non-ticket holders from 15:00 on Saturday 9 March and dismantling will be complete at the end of 11 March. See below for full details.

Sammy Ofer Centre and Taunton Centre will operate as normal during the Tattoo weekend.

Marquee installations on campus

Construction and dismantling of the marquees will take place on the front lawn and lower quad areas on the following days:

  • Thursday 7 March, 07:30–18:00
  • Friday 8 March, 08:00–15:00
  • Monday 11 March, 08:00–18:00

Safety barriers will surround the Lower Quad and a portion of the Front Lawn as the company bring the necessary metalwork and materials onto campus. A number of contractors will be on site and a forklift truck will be used to move materials from the car park loading bay area to the Lower Quad. Please observe all safety barriers and signs and do not enter areas cordoned off with safety tape.
