Narnia comes to LBS: Toy Drive ends with sparkling party
The LBS annual Toy Drive concluded this week with a spectacular Narnia-themed party, held in the campus marquee and organised entirely by LBS volunteers.
Local children aged of four to 15 entered the event through a magical wardrobe, donated and custom-made from scratch by the wonderfully creative estates team. They then walked through the magical forest of Narnia, complete with snow falling from above.
After running around in the snow (as children should), they made their way to a magnificent feast of burgers, pizza and chips, followed by dessert: an amazing white chocolate fountain with fruit and cakes as dippers. All food was donated by the generous catering team.
Finally, Santa delivered presents and each child received his/her very own gift based on his or her interests. The children then enjoyed some festive games, decorated gingerbread men and left Narnia with full bellies, goodie bags and happy memories.
A huge thank you goes to everyone that helped to deliver a unique and memorable experience for the local children who attend the Fourth Feathers Youth and Community Centre and Adventure Play Hub.
This includes everyone that donated the 420 presents that we shared this year and colleagues from across the School who built the wardrobe, Santa's magical grotto and a four metre sparkling tree. Thanks to our photographer Karen Hatch and to all the volunteers who helped to wrap presents, make and hang intricate, hand-cut snowflakes, blow up balloons, and, of course, clean up afterwards!
