LBS Enterprise for Schools 2018
On Friday 9 February 2018, we opened our doors once again and welcomed 5 local schools to take part in our second LBS Enterprise for Schools- a day of Entrepreneurship that bought together, local schools, LBS staff and alumni.
50 teenagers were invited to this Dragon’s Den style training day where they learnt how to develop an idea for an app and then brand, pitch and take their ideas to the market. Over 30 volunteers from Degree Education also gave up their time to help make the day a huge success.
Teenagers spent the day in workshops and activities where they learnt how to develop business concepts explore problem solving, self-development and how to hone soft skills. They heard from alumni and faculty who discussed elevator pitches and gave business insights. Check out the student’s elevator pitches here!
Alex Petterson, Co-founder of LBS Enterprise for Schools, said: “We’ve had over 20 alumni take part and share their own experience of how they run their businesses”. “I see this event growing in the future. We would like to get more schools involved to make sure that the impact we have as a business school is as far reaching as possible”. He added: “It's been a great use of my time. I know I've grown from this event. It was a very rewarding day and I'm looking forward to the next event”.
This was the second consecutive year that this event has taken place and we hope it becomes an annual fixture. If you'd be interested in participating next year, then please get in touch with Alex Petterson.
