Dean's weekly update

*This communication was sent by email to staff and faculty

Dear colleagues,

These are unprecedented and trying times for us all. Our strength and resilience are being tested more than ever. As we finish a second week working from home and a third week of delivering virtual classes and exams, I hope you are settling into the new routines imposed by our new context.

I am extremely grateful for how our community has continued to come together to collaborate so effectively during this critical time. Thank you for all you are doing.

There are so many examples of fantastic work, support and outcomes across the School community and I look forward to sharing some of these stories at our virtual School Meeting on Tuesday 31 March 2020. Please do join us if you can. For those who are not able to, we will be recording the meeting and sharing the video.

In the meantime, I want to update you on some of the activity underway to ensure the continued success of our School.

Governance
Several new working committees have been established to support the School’s drive towards successfully completing this academic year and to plan for 20/21, given the new context. These committees represent all parts of the School and are actively supporting the creation and delivery of outstanding experiences for all in the LBS community. The committees are as follows:
  • Community Wellbeing
  • Virtual School
  • Business Continuity
  • Financial Resilience
  • Stakeholder Communication
Communications
This is the first of weekly updates you will be receiving from me for the foreseeable future. Tuesday 31 March 2020 will be the first of a series of monthly virtual School Meetings, which I will be hosting. I want to make sure that all of you have the opportunity to stay apprised of our progress, activity and challenges.
We have more work to do to plan for the future and I look forward to sharing more details in the coming weeks. In the meantime, I want to assure you that the School remains committed to its vision, confident in its resilience and dedicated to its community.

Stay safe and healthy.

Warm wishes,
François
